Baroness Bryony Worthington

Architect of UK's Climate Change Act -

Bryony was the lead author of the UK Climate Change Act 2008 and brings over 20 years of environmental expertise from her work on climate, energy and wildlife conservation policy in the NGO and public sectors, as well as in the private sector for Scottish and Southern Energy.

Bryony has been the Founding Director of Sandbag (now Ember), a non-profit campaign group focused on the EU’s carbon markets; Executive Director for Europe at the Environmental Defense Fund and Co-Director of the Quadrature Climate Foundation. She currently has board-level roles, in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors, including Deputy Chair of the board of trustees at WWF-UK and Executive Chair of New Automotive. She created a life peer in 2011 and sits on the Crossbenches.
