Gina Neff is the Executive Director of the Minderoo Centre for Technology & Democracy at the University of Cambridge and a Professor of Technology & Society at the University of Oxford. Her research on the roles of digital data for workers, workplaces, and our everyday lives has won awards in both engineering and social sciences.

Her new book is Human-Centered Data Science: An Introduction (MIT Press 2022). Professor Neff led the team that won the 2021 Webby for the Internet’s best educational website: the A to Z of AI, now a part of Google’s free online job training platform, reaching over 1 million people in 17 different languages.

In advisory roles, she is chair of the board of Bright, a social media company, serves on the Strategic Advisory Network for the UK’s Economics and Social Research Council and on the board of directors for the Social Science Research Council.
