Melvyn Lubega
Co-Founder of Go1 and Partner at Breega - GO1
Melvyn Lubega is a partner at Breega, one of the fastest-growing early-stage VC funds in Europe and Africa, with over EUR500 million in AUM. During his double Masters at Oxford, he received a distinction for his research into disruptive technologies in emerging markets.
Prior to his role at Breega, he was a Co-founder and Director of Go1, a large corporate education content hub for on-demand training and resources. He built and scaled the company to attract more than $400 million in investment from leading tier-1 investors and recent acquisition of Blinkist. He says the company was started by his co-founders in a garage in Australia as a web development company.
Melvyn has advised leading enterprises and governments in more than 10 countries across the Middle East and Africa, beginning when he worked with Boston Consulting Group, in 2011.
As a commitment to 'paying it forward', he serves as a board member of Endeavor South Africa and on the board of governors at St John’s College. He is a Rhodes Scholar and an Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellow.
