Michael is an investor at firstminute capital, a seed-stage venture fund backed by 120 unicorn founders.
He spent the first 15 years of his career as a journalist, most recently as founding editor of Sifted.eu, and before that as a foreign correspondent for the Financial Times. At Sifted, he helped scale the company from an idea to a venture-backed media platform with a team of 50 producing world-class, in-depth coverage of European tech and startups.
At the FT, he was a foreign correspondent and bureau chief in Madrid, Paris, Stockholm and New York. For firstminute, he leads coverage of France and sits on the boards of Typology, Plum, Mediflash and Lyanne.
He has a first-class degree from Cambridge University.
