Christian Angermayer is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and founder of his private investment firm, Apeiron Investment Group. With more than USD 3.5 billion under management and 60 people across five international locations, Apeiron focuses on Life Sciences, FinTech & Crypto (including InsurTech and PropTech), and FutureTech (e.g., SpaceTech, FoodTech, and AI).

Apeiron has a global approach and deploys its capital across the entire company lifecycle; from founding companies in-house and seed/startup investments to large-scale investments in listed companies. As Apeiron invests predominantly in its own capital, the team can be highly entrepreneurial, reliable, and flexible.

A key company within the Apeiron portfolio is atai Life Sciences (NASDAQ: ATAI), which was founded by Christian in 2018. atai is making significant headway towards unlocking innovative treatments to improve the status quo for the one billion-plus people worldwide suffering from mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, addiction, and post-traumatic stress disorder. atai currently has multiple projects underway to investigate the potential of psychedelic compounds like “magic mushrooms”/psilocybin, DMT and Ibogaine, and establish these as approved medical treatments.

With his biotech companies Rejuveron Life Sciences and Cambrian Biopharma, Christian is developing medical drugs with the aim to significantly prolong the human life span – because, after all, we believe that everyone wants to and should be able to live a healthier, happier, and longer life.

Christian’s Angermayer Policy and Innovation Forum convene several times a year in person and weekly online with the international heads of states, politicians, investors, and scientists coming together to discuss and address crucial global priorities.

Passionate about the arts and film, Christian has acted as (executive) producer on 26 feature films to date, including the critically acclaimed movies Filth (2013), Hector and the Search for Happiness (2014), Resistance (2020) and the Netflix 2021 Zack Snyder hit, Army of Thieves.
