Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley is an artist working predominantly in animation, sound, performance, and video game development. Her practice focuses on intertwining lived experience with fiction to imaginatively retell the stories of Black Trans people. Using technology to image the lives of Black Trans folks in environments that centre their bodies, her work archives the experiences of those living, those that have passed and those that have been forgotten.

Danielle has presented work at Tate, Serpentine, Barbican, Arebyte, David Kordansky Gallery, QUAD, Focal Point Gallery, Science Gallery, Les Urbains and ICA.
