Harmeen Mehta joined BT on 01 March 2021, in a newly created role as Chief Digital & Innovation Officer. She leads the Digital unit in BT, accountable for digital innovation and delivery, IT delivery and transformation, data strategy and solutions and IT architecture and governance.

She has over 20 years of experience as Global CIO and in global technology roles with companies such as Bharti Airtel, BBVA (Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria), Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and HSBC. She also worked as a consultant to British Airways and Qantas.

Harmeen has lived in 11 countries and worked across 30 countries around the world.

She is the recipient of the prestigious 2018 MIT Sloan Leadership Award and the TM Forum Global CIO of the year award. She has also been recognised by the Economic Times as one of the 'top 10 women in telecoms and tech industry' category from across the globe. Harmeen has also been awarded the 'Woman of the decade in innovation and leadership' accolade, by the Women Economic Forum.

Harmeen is the vice-chair and Board member for the TM Forum and other start-ups in India and the Silicon Valley.
