Ida Hyllested

Interim Chief, Child Rights and Business - UNICEF

Ida Margarita Hyllested is the acting chief of UNICEF’s Child Rights and Business Team. She led the development of UNICEF’s global strategy to address adverse child rights impacts by business and has shaped UNICEF’s work to generate knowledge, guidance and tools for businesses and States on practical measures in relation to child safeguarding, children’s digital rights, child rights in investment decision-making, the family-friendly policies agenda as well as child rights in the extractive sector. Ida is an established child rights professional with extensive experience in building partnerships for children with diverse stakeholders. Ida joined the UN in 2005 and worked on child protection and humanitarian response in South Sudan, Sudan and in the occupied Palestinian territory before joining UNICEF’s Child Rights and Business Unit in Geneva in 2011. Ida holds a MA in African Studies from the University of Copenhagen and a BA in Social Anthropology from the University of Aarhus.
